The person behind the systems
A hands-on IT and ERP leader who has spent a career getting industrial technology to behave — from the ERP right down to the weighbridge.
I'm an IT and ERP leader with 25+ years spent turning complicated industrial operations into systems that actually hold together. Most of that has been here in the Gulf — Saudi Arabia and the UAE — across ready-mix concrete, polymers and masterbatch, and specialty chemicals. In businesses like these, a system that falls over doesn't just annoy people; it stops production.
My job, put plainly, is to make the technology fit the operation instead of the other way round. That means choosing and implementing the right ERP, connecting it down to the plant floor so data moves cleanly from the boardroom to the batching computer, and building the infrastructure, networks and security that keep the whole thing on its feet.
I've worked hands-on across SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, CANIAS and Orion, tied ERP into Rockwell shop-floor systems, weighbridges and batching lines, and looked after the virtualization, backup and disaster recovery nobody thinks about until the morning it matters. I also build websites end to end, which keeps me close to the code and honest about how things really get made.
What I'm not is a slide-deck consultant. I've sat in the manager's chair, carried the pager, and been the one accountable when a go-live wobbles — so I bring an operator's instinct to every engagement: vendor-neutral, practical, and judged by whether the thing works on Monday morning.
These days I consult independently, so you get that same senior, hands-on attention without the layers in between. If you're weighing up an ERP, wrestling a network, or you just want someone who can see the whole board, I'd be glad to help.
A straight line through Gulf manufacturing — from racking servers in Karachi to running the whole stack for a masterbatch plant in the Kingdom. Each stop taught the next.

Not a list of buzzwords — these are the systems I've actually built on, broken, fixed and lived with in production.

Let's start a discussion
Tell me what you're wrestling with — an ERP decision, a network that keeps dropping, a website that needs building. A few lines is plenty to get started, and these messages come straight to me. This site is for knowledge-sharing and professional discussion; any paid consultancy is arranged separately under a formal, lawful agreement (see Terms of Use).
What this website is — and isn’t
A personal, independent space for sharing IT and ERP knowledge from experience. Please take a moment to read how it works and the terms under which it is offered.
In short: RehanHussain.info is my personal website for sharing professional knowledge and opinions drawn from my own experience. It is not a company, not a shop, and it neither sells anything nor collects any payment. If a business decides it would like my help, that is arranged separately and lawfully as a proper consulting engagement.
The purpose of this site
The articles, guides and pages here exist to share what I have learned over a career in enterprise IT and ERP. They are general, experience-based, professional-interest content — published freely for you to read and consider.
An individual, not a business
This site is run by me, Rehan Hussain, as an individual professional. It is not a registered company, commercial establishment or legal entity, and it is not a channel for commercial transactions. Nothing is sold here and no money is taken through this website.
Operated from Saudi Arabia
I operate this site from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and make every effort to comply fully with the applicable laws and regulations of the Kingdom. Any professional engagement I accept is carried out lawfully and in line with those regulations and any authorisation they may require.
How consulting actually works
Buttons such as “Start a discussion” are simply an invitation to talk — not an offer, a contract, or a solicitation. If, after that conversation, a business wishes to engage me, we agree the scope, terms and fees in a separate written agreement before any work begins.
